Ricoh Test

We all have gobs of equipment. Well, not everyone, but I'm sure I am not alone. I am going a new direction and will be starting a project soon (subject matter still up in the air) with an anti-equipment theme. This photo was taken with a Ricoh Singlex TLS SLR. I got the camera from a fellow APUG'er for $15. The meter (or battery) is dead so I use a Sekonic selenium cell meter I picked up at an antique mall for $5. This was the first test roll through the camera. Oh the film is cheap too, Arista.edu (rebadged Fomapan 200). Needless to say, the camera and meter both functioned perfectly, and the film is awesome! I am setting my darkroom up again, and I can't wait to start printing instead of scanning negs.

I really like the way the out of focus elements look on this lens. There is some vignetting towards the edges, but I kinda like the look. Straight scan, tweaked a bit with curves and slightly sharpened but nothing more in P-shop.

Image quality looks great. You got a lot of bang for the buck. IIRC, a predecessor of the Richo Singlex was sold in the USA by Nikon as the Nikkorex F.
