Not sure what mystical symbolism there is here, tree of life vs death, who knows, but it's an interesting picture. It came across a bit light on my computer and I'd want the tree pretty dark but that could just be monitor scanning stuff. I like that you cropped it and it's not a great picture but it's interesting. You could decide if you should crop it to take out the two telephone poles on the right of if it gets too claustrophobic or not.

Couldn't agree more - w/ both not great but interesting. 'Tried the crop - its better, but I'm guessing no amount of lipstick on this one will elevate it much more. I have a shot of the same tree w/ stronger headstones & no distractions, but absent the drama from that back light - it too seems to have fatal flaws. If early morning can provide the backlight drama, it would seem a much more clear statement. I'm learning. Your kind help is no small part of that education. I sure appreciate it. Now - on to getting that mono tressel shot near its potential.

I am not sure what to say about the foto, but that is ONE FINE TREE. Oh my gosh. Every time I have been tempted, or have executed, taking a foto of a tree, no matter how interesting , I am reminded of a quote from the character played by Fred Astaire, the photographer in the movie I think was "funny face" with Audrey Hepburn, "You'd be surprised how low the demand for pictures of trees is" I swear, every tree I see that I want to jump out of the car and memorialize, I think through that decision because that d@#$ed movie! In this case I think I may have missed the graveyard for the trees. Some pretty old graveyards here in NJ, I seem to have an affinity attraction to those sites, several I have wanted to photograph. Those being the ones that have been laid to rest, so to speak.
