Dave - this is wonderful. My favorite of the series. I would shave a little off the left side but otherwise wouldn't change a thing. I love the highlights on the stalks. Great work. I'm considering trying my hand at the still life. If I do your recent posts will be what tipped the scale. Thanks for sharing. All the best. doc
Thank you all for your comments they are much appriciated. Shawn ,I am still tinkering with the cropping of the image and like you say it might need a bit of cropping on the left, thanks for your advice.
If you still have that spray Dave, the single bloom at the base of the stalk should make a nice study if you look at it a bit more full on. If you see a "Ranunculus" bloom that should make a nice picture, close up. I do not remember if I have mentioned this before but Ron van Dongen does a lot of flower photography but using natural light.
Thanks Roy, unfortnately the flower died, those ones dont seem to last that long. I will check out the 'Ranunculus' they look really interesting to photograph. Thanks for mentioning Ron van Dongen. I have checked out his website and he has some stunning images, seems very prolific and has produced some nice books that do look worth purchasing. At the moment i am a big fan of Cy Decosse flower photographs, I believe he shoots in natural light too. He also has a book out that i am having trouble obtaining as there were only 850 copies of it printed a few years back, the few copies that are around are about $300, so i may have to wait, here is a link to it for those interested (http://www.artbooks.de/21st/21st-vol4-1.html) Thanks again.
