Reluctant Model

So I've been curious. I wanted to see what this lens looked like in a non-macro capacity. Since it has been three years since I did anything last, too, I wanted to make sure I still remembered how to work a large format camera in the first place. It's a test shot in many ways.

First of all, it's shot on 4x5 APX of unknown age. Second, it's been in a holder for three years. Third, I used the digi-thing to meter, which I wasn't sure was actually going to work. And, fourth, this is the 105mm Apotar from the shot of the toy in my gallery.

I kind of like the vignetting. It could be used strategically to draw attention to the middle of the frame. However, I think I'll likely use it with a 6x6 back. It would be an *awesome* portrait lens in that format.

Funky double exposure here, or is the lighting just very clever?

It is, indeed, just the lighting. The shadow makes it look like he has a cape. I may try the shot again with non-expired film. I thought about it last night, but wondered if anyone would notice.
