As I've mentioned in a couple of other pictures, I sort of feel you are a victim of your own success. Lets go to my David Lynch analogy. If he shot dozens of movies just like his famous ones and did documentaries and romantic comedies like that, we would maybe tune it out. So my impressions of this look, which I absolutely love, in the quirky strange world you created with some of the others, loses it's appeal when you try for more "ordinary" scenes with that same look. So if I were you, I would perhaps, make your quirky portfolio with your lith toned look and some of your more "normal" ones in a different manner. If I walked into a gallery showing your work, and saw the quirky ones with that particular look, and your other ones with another look, I'd be very impressed with your work. If I walked in and found both sets with the same look I would get the one trick pony feeling and be less impressed. Still great work but I think you need to define these and lock them in.
