Photo taken after an Ice Storm near New Haven, CT. I believe that the image was taken with either my Leica f4.0 70-210mm Zoom and a Nikon 5T close-up lens or my Leica 60mm f2.8 Macro Elmarit.
Thanks for the compliment. This is an image that has gotten positive reaction over the years. People looking at it frequently think that the ice is really water; they do not realize that water could not hold the water tension observed as the ice.
Though the main subject of course is in the foreground, an additional cluster of berries in ice is visible in the upper right of the image. Additionally,out-of-focus reflections and out of focus specular highlights were recorded on the film (and seen in the photograph) in the shape of the lens diaghram.
This image has been purchased by a psychiatrist for the purpose of explaining to her patients that she wants to strip away layers (remove the ice)- problems to help the patient to get to their real self- the fruit encased in the ice.
