Really big scissors

I decided to try out some artificial lighting for wet plate work.
I basically took my well used and beloved blacklight UV box I use for alt printing and put it on end, pointed it at some canvas and started putting interesting things in front of the camera.

Surprisingly, I was getting exposure times in the mere 8 sec range. Noticeably faster than the 1min exposures I was getting just an hour before on my porch.

I found these old scissors at an antique expo in north Austin.
