Eric, what colour film was this taken on and is a conversion as good as this possible in a darkroom? I may be wrong because I haven't seen the colour version but frankly it is difficult to believe that it can measure up to the vibrancy and tones in this B&W version. This really jumps out and demands attention. It might be the combination of elements here that really suits B&W. I have a painted scene on my wall that is similar. Ironically I bought it in Crete on holiday in what was an incredibly hot August and even the wife likes it. Generally she still regards B&W as a sign of a kind of poverty and the ability to have colour photographs in the camera and processed was the beginnings of affluence
I've been out of town for a few days and away from regular online access, but I don't want to pass up a chance to express my appreciation of this work. Sigh. I'll keep practicing.
