After two days of heavy rain and howling winds I was determined to get out and take a dawn shot come what may. It was raining hard though the wind had died down when I took this shot. Despite using a Lee hood the lens was soaking wet, running with water within a few seconds. I just hoped that the long exposure would hide the drips somewhat.
Beautiful atmosphere and the mention of the raindrops made them look in the picture where they have left their ghost traces, enhancing the mood even more.
I am curious, why did you use Dokumol?
I've found that Dokumol and Forte Polygrade produces nice, deep blue-black shadows. By partially bleaching and toning in sepia I end up with warm highlights and blue-black shadows - the contrast in tones and the delicacy of the toned highlights compared with the hardness and depth of the shadows looks better than a print that is warm-toned from highlight to shadow to my eyes - there is more apparent depth.
This is brilliant. I love the composition too, the small point of land in the bottom right is echoed by the shape of the drift of the clouds and the dark foreground.
