All too sad an image, someone went to the trouble of putting up flags and then didn't look after them, well spotted.

Nice picture of a sad state of affairs indeed. Law prevents us to raise our flag like this. Flagging is allowed on national days of celebration only, when people get married, confirmed or die, and only from sun-up to sun-down. I find it strange that Americans are so proud of their flag, yet treat it so poorly.

these little flags were taken down a day or two after i photographed them. i suppose, Ezzie, that our flag is flown by so many people, institutions, businesses, government, it just seems so commonplace that many people just do not stop to think about respectfully taking care of it.
