Pyramid of Cestius, Scooter

The pyramid of Caius Cestius, a wealthy Roman of the imperial era. He wanted a funerary monument that would last for all time and stand out amongst those of his peers. So he had a white marble pyramid built. Today, the "English Cemetery"/Cimiterio Accatolico abuts the pyramid, just inside the city walls. John Keats and Shelley rest there in the pyramid's shadow.
