I'm really amazed by the quality of these little Proxar closeup lenses for the Contax IIa. This is more or less the equivalent of a 20x30in print.
In the lower left corner you can see the whole picture, and a little red rectangle to show where the detail is from.
This is the 20, the one with the highest magnification, over a Sonnar 50mm f/1.5.
Proxars work on any 50mm for the Contax, and you use an external rangefinder to find the proper distance. You may also skip the RF and use a ruler: this lens focuses down to 20cm.
There's also a 30 and a 50, same logic applies.
The whole kit, in a sweet little box, perfect condition, still costs very little, and is actually a workable solution for old-fashioned macro. I find the RF easier to focus precisely than a focusing screen.
