In my screen, it looks extremely soft, that is lacking much in the way of blacks, but apart from that, its a very nice portrait. I like her eyes. With that strong attitude and that afro it feels very 70s.

Personally I cover the couch to get rid of all the lines of the cushions. A white sheet could be used. The hands converging into a fiesta of fingers could be handled by riding the left arm down the leg in a more elegant pose.

The models "covering" may be more interesting not coming at the camera but angled down her leg as well. Also I'd have here posture leaning in more than it is now. She is leaning back a bit.

It's an interesting attempt and a pretty model. Keep it up.

With some models and poses the longer you look the worse it gets. This is the opposite.

Mind you, I think that the legs' position could be improved. It's as if the legs don't quite flow from the waist as they should

Looks to have a better contrast than the other similar shot. The hands and painted nails help relieve the softness of the picture.

I love her assuredness, without her trying to be 'pleasing' in any way, which is refreshing.

At very first glance I wasn't sure of the gender of the model, which adds an interesting frisson.

I don't really see any awakwardness, or if there is any certainly don't mind it. It seems to tell us more about the person, and adds narrative to the picture.
