Nice composition well rendered -- and subject right up my alley! It's quite impressive the way that canal is maintained, and still used. (Spent a few days in Seneca Falls last year.)
I often see someone's work and then look through their portfolio and decide to critique them for the hell of it. Because as I've said before sometimes we need an outsider to give insight on our style that we do instinctively. So here goes. Your work is what I would describe as quiet, nice and pleasant. Maybe even folksy. It's always well composed, and printed for large tonal ranges giving it a quiet and elegant feel about it. It has a gentleness that may be an aspect of your character. It doesn't appeal to me too much, but that's neither here or there because I'm drawn to more dramatic stuff, but I sincerely respect it. Like I said I'm far more excited by more contrasty, and perhaps dynamic pictures, but I do find interest in your quiet soft spoken work. And it's always good to see people doing something that I wouldn't, since that's what it's all about, exposure to other ideas and styles . Because once we know who we are, we inhabit our own universe, and it's always a treat to visit someone else's universe once in a while.

We have never met, but my family members would say your description of my personality is spot on. Part of the reason I like working with large format cameras is the slow pace of image making and I do take my time setting a shot up. Thus, I have a hard time with action situations - when I am finally ready for a shot the action has moved on.
Can't possibly compete with Blansky here, but your pic is really well rendered, and does indeed give a peaceful feel to an industrial subject...very nice!
