Picture taken of Pottery & Navajo Rug with Deardorff V8 with 45cm Red Dot Artar installed in a Copal 3 shutter at f32 with exposure of 20 +/- seconds. Photography cropped. Used Pro100 film developed in D76 1:1 strength at 13.5 minutes +/-. First attempt at developing 4x5 B&W on my own. Used HP combi Tank. Long over due about getting into the developing end of photography....last developed B&W in 1988 while attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate program.
I like this crop better than the other. You did a good job catching the color of the rug and the pot. I'm not sure about the hot spots on the pot though.
For your first development in such a long time you got a good shot.
Mark, thanks for your encouraging words.
The hot spots are the studio lights. I was not able to diffuse/bouce etc enough and have sufficient light for the 100 ISO rated film. I am going to load some 4x5 320 Tri-X and take a similar shot and hope to tone down the lights more. The other picture (#2) pretty much a straight shot w/ little or no cropping. I have also picked up a Black Muslim back drop and will try it too in a couple of shots.
BTW, my focus point with the 45cm Artar was the top portion of the pottery. Does the 45cm appear to focus properly to you? I encourage one and all to comment on the sharpness of the lens, for I am trying to determine if it has the cells properly spaced in the copal 3. I think I will try the Navajo Rug as a "flat" surface on the background to get a better idea of just how sharp this lens can be.
