Portrait

Initially I thought I had misprocessed the film because it was too grainy, but once printed it took on a soft almost pictorial look which was not what I had been looking for, but which I liked.
Equipment Used
Leica M4 and 40mm rokkor
Paper & Developer
8x10 Ilford MG IV FB, selenium toned
It has a great feel. I love the "brightness" of the head area (the face and the wall behind) and it indeed has a painterly look to it. As a matter of fact I think it would be even more strong if you had it cropped higher above the darkness of the bottom.

I think you are right, cropping it slightly might improve it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Excellent potrait.
It is an original approach to a many-times photographed subject ("potrait").

I'm curious, what type of film did you use?

Thank you. It is Tri-X developed in Rodinal and subject to excessive agitation.
