Besides being beautifully designed (dad's arm, son's leaning head and the lovely dark space on the right), this is a wonderfully emotional photogaph. If there were only to be a single image that fully characterized the love and protectiveness of a parent for a child...and the child's deep comfort therein...this would do it for me. Marvelous work, Cheryl.
Interesting image, I like it as is, but could also stand alone by cropping Dad out. I know that was not your intention, but as is or cropped it is a strong delicious image. Good job!
Thank you very much. This one's special to me, too.
I have to apologize for those of you with particularly bright monitors; I'm checking this from my laptop which has a way-too-bright screen, and I can now see a whole lot of dust and junk. Sorry about that! Can't see any of it on my PC monitor....
hey cheryl! looks like i've run into you on another site
i always love your work and this is no exception. really very stunning and wonderful emotions coming through.
Beautiful, this portrait says so much in his eyes. When I read on your journal that you were going to do this session I almost PM'd you because I had some casual friends who had a son with the same condition. I knew you would capture what it must be like to live with hemophilia, and I think you have. There is something about people who daily face these type challenges that deserves to be captured and savored. Yours is truly a rare and wonderful talent. And by the way I think the square format is perfect
