very nice image, look at this one upside down and liked it . The print on my screen looks to light, I would imagine this image could be printed quite darker and look as beautiful
Thanks Bob. I did print the bottom of the image darker at first but settled on this version because of the glow of the leaves. Of course this doesn't translate as well through the scan. Thanks again. doc
This is quite good, some of the glow of the leaves and the lightness of the water can be felt even through the scan, that is an accomplishment in it's self.
What makes this, as a picture, are the bands of snake like forms that are moving across the frame. Unfortunately they are broken up at a certain point. A little dodging and burning will fix it in a jiff.
The first ban is the layer of leaves. About 1/4 the way from the left edge there is a circle of them that is too light in comparison the the rest. The right side could be dodged a fraction as well; it is starting to look a little too heavy. The other band that needs work is the water. The reflection of the clouds on the right side is too dark compared to the rest.
The band of reflected trees is very nice at the top to keep you contained in the picture space. All in all it is a very nice picture.
Richard,
Your suggestions are all well taken, especially the water being too dark on the right. This is a work print that I just wasn't sure was going to work. Now that I've spent some time with it I'm starting to like it. At least enough to print it right and decide. Thanks. doc
D.E., quite a compliment. gma, thanks! This was a work print printed on an easl that wasn't full frame. There are some more trees but the amount of leaves will stay the same on the final print. doc
