Ploughing Horses (2)

A pair of horses seen at this year's ploughing match on the Isle of Wight.
The match is mainly for tractors, both new and vintage, but the local equestrian centre brings the horses along to demonstrate how it used to be done.

Beautiful! It made me remember the old Jethro Tull song "Heavy Horses". It's pretty impressive that you took these photos with a handheld RB. Quite a "heavy horse" in itself...

This is a great shot. Somehow it captures the spirit of the horses in a way the other front-on shot doesn't quite match. Maybe it works better because it concentrates on their faces and it's a case of less is more.

Yes, it is a bit of a heavy workhorse but if you feed it right, treat it gently and guide it with a steady hand, it repays you well.
