I would sell a kidney or do whatever it takes to live in a place like that, That is my dream. To one day live in a perfect American suburb like this. I am very jealous. Everyone here is happy and they have perfect letterboxes and perfect lawns and everything is perfect. I bet all the neighbors are friendly and no bad things happen there. Does anyone know people who are lucky enough to live in these paradise places? Is this your street Mcfortner? or do you know someone who lives there? If you live there can you adopt me? can you please shoot more of these suburbs and post them here? does anyone know of any photographers who have photographed more places like this? sorry to get so excited.
Stephen, this is definitely NOT my street. These houses are all on tiny little lots with about 5 feet between the houses (if you are lucky). They are also in one of those Neighborhood Association Covenants, so there are about a million little rules you have to follow.
I picked the title because the first time I heard "Pleasant Valley Sunday" when I was 6 or so in 1973, this was the type of image it produced in my mind. I've finally been lucky enough to find a neighborhood that mirrors what I have been thinking all these years.
