I had a frustrating, and ultimately unproductive day in the darkroom. I realized much too late that I had diluted the developer a little too much, and was struggling with getting some rich shadow detail in every neg I worked on.

Anyway... finally changed the dilution, and had to start over with this print, and I still have to tweak things a bit as I t hink the developer was too strong! But alas... the bus was on it's way home from school with the one on the left, and I had to stop for the day, so I will live with it as is for now!! I won't be able to get back to printing for a couple of weeks! (Hate that!!!)

This was made last summer when my youngest had a friend over. They found all sorts of mischief in the name of scientific investigation!

I've seen your post on the forum many times, this is the first time I've seen your work, child portraiture is one of my main interest and all I can say is wow, this shot has everything, soft lighting, lovely tones, pin sharp, the lightest highlight the boy on the rights face against the deepest shadow in the picture, the composition with the fishing net at the diagonal is perfect, and most of all it says what it's like to be a boy, I wish I had taken this Suzanne, bravo

You're getting such beautiful images from this combination of materials, models, process and vision...really wonderful.
