we used to have these orchids in the woods near where i grew up.
from what i was told by a horticulturalist they have been growing
where they are found " since the beginning of time " ...

You're certainly welcome John! This is the first one I've shot, it was a rather alien encounter.

Ahh this brings back memories of spring for me We used to have at least 20 of these (I remember counting them) growing in our backyard. They're quite interesting and I think they're even a protected species these days.
