Warming up for World Wide Pinhole Day. The grounds of Hatley Castle (last image I posted) run down to Esquimalt Lagoon. If you get bored of the buildings, the gardens, the ponds you can wander down to the lagoon.
If this is warming up for WPPD, then I can't wait to see what your final entry will be. Beautiful image. The surface of the water looks like a frozen lake. I like it, also the toning.
I like this very much, and appreciate the toning. Do you tone lightly with a brief, dilute bleach, or the full sepia treatment bleaching until the image disappears then using the thiocarbamide to restore the full tonality? I ask because this looks warmly brown and not overly sepia. May also be a function of the MGWT?
Thanks everyone. Jovo, my usual is 30-60 sec in 1/2 strength bleach. Then the thiocarbamide. By varying the ratio of A to B, different tones from yellow-brown to purple-brown are possible. A dunk in Selinium after, can push the tones further, depending on strength and time. I rarely consider a print finished these days until I've toned it. Sometimes I wreak a good print by pushing the toning too far.
