That was my first thought too.... it's hot here today! Then I thought to myself... maybe that's for climbing out of boats and you'd get eaten by an alligator if you jumped off the end...
 
Yup. This is a dock for small boats, not swimmers. As it's in a salt marsh, gators are not so likely, but you could land on a manatee!
 
With such rigorous foreground symmetry implying the presence of Man this one seems a mildly surrealistic departure.
 
Thanks Ken, and tony. As most art reveals more about the artist than the subject, this, for me, is similar to you, tony. I obviously favor order and symmetry and like it even better when it can be found in erstwhile chaos!
 
This is so real it becomes surreal to me, in a very inviting and intriguing way. I LOVE the gleam on the metal at the end of the dock. Very nice work.
