Piano Etude #6 - The Piano Tuner

Caffenol print.
Before the piano tuner arrived, I took the advantage of the open piano to do some photo studies. He liked the light setup because he usually works in the semi-dark, so I left it in place. This is a five-second exposure I grabbed while he worked.

Thanks, John. I can honestly say my work has never been compared to David Lynch before. Challenge accepted.

Fabulous. It's like a pinhole photograph, only without being 'uniformly unsharp'. Love your home made lens experiments. It's a great way to exercise the skill of making a good print without the luxury of super sharp lenses, and a real breath of fresh air of stepping out of the norm. Likey.

Thanks, folks! Paper negatives are a different animal altogether, being insensitive to reds, which makes it easy to lose important details that other films would capture without difficulty. Add to that the dubious quality of the home made lens and the inconsistencies of Caffenol development (and numerous operator errors along the way) and you end up with Christmas morning every time you make a print. Fun... and educational.
