I think about Photostock 2012 many times throughout the week. I have realized that Photostock is a shared-personal-event. When one is in this amazingly tranquil part of America, one needs absorb and be part of the wonderful communal energy of individuals who appreciate art; yet make sure to stop and smell the roses along the journey. This year I have distilled all my photographs of Photostock 2012 down to three images, all with different meaning, however, when taken as a whole, reflect the spirit of Photostock and the personal discovery realized though being there. The first is a print of wife smiling to her husband, sharing in his joke with a group of fellow artists while waiting to have his portrait taken. The second image is friends, who kindly took me with them on their photographic journey of the shore. Their warmth and kindness to invite me to be a part of their journey cannot be repaid other than showing you how wonderful their energy and connectedness with nature is and their desire to photograph nature in all its beauty is clear here as they plan out their approach. The third is an image of the lake, barely discernible, yet soft and beautiful. This represents me being there and seeing the beautiful majestic lake, yet how I felt as I lazily glanced at it as I rested and smelled the roses per se
