Naahh, I just went out on my own and seriously got lost. Ended up way to close to Green Bay for my liking.
I just kept on cruising with minimal worries....lots-a java

There is a saying (and at one time bumper stickers) that goes like this: "
Go to Manistique on vacation
Leave on Probation

At one time Manistique had a State trooper training ground, local police and county boys all trying to out law enforce each other. I used to go up there a lot, but about 12 years ago I saw the police in action and it was down right scary.

JD, that's interesting. I think that Manistique has the last 'Big Boy' burger joint. Once a big franchise before Mickey D's took over the world. As we saw no police cars at all, I guess we struck some luck! Although farther down the road we caught one of the cop cars with the big round juice blender on the roof. Goodness, it reminded me of '70s car chase movies, like Cannonball Run, and Smokey and the Bandit. Gads.
