An advertising mannequin in the form of a chef, masked in a gesture to today's reality, staring out the door of the kitchen supply shop he shills for in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia.
@ignatiu5 Old City has this really interesting, unique vibe. There's this industrial side to it, or rather ex-industrial side, and then there's the really early historical stuff (Elfreth's Alley, the churches, etc), and the insanely expensive upscale side ($1.8M condos), and then there's the dive bars on 2nd, and the old neighborhood businesses you'd expect to find in say Brooklyn or Lower Manhattan. It's good to see things are getting cleaned up though- the last time I was up there, that old hotel at Broad and Fairmount was still a graffiti-covered crack den.
@TheFlyingCamera yeah, it's a pretty unique area and mix in the city. In the BeforeTimes, I would wander over for First Fridays art walks or to check out a new brewpub.
That old hotel is just up the street from me. It's now luxury apartments (like everything else). I photographed it before the reno started a few years ago: https://www.photrio.com/forum/media/divine-lorraine-i.49389/
