Pentre Ifan

Pentre Ifan

I was determined to take a shot of Pentre Ifan on our recent holiday to Pembrokeshire. We arrived around lunchtime and I set up my Toyo whilst the tourists bumbled around the stones. Seeing the sun 'sitting' on top of one of the stones I was keen to get a shot in the bag. Sensing a gap in their number I took a shot, realised I'd not reset the aperture after focusing, took another shot and realised I'd left the darkslide in. By now I had to move the camera the keep the sun in the right place and I shot again without re-focusing. Then, finally I'd got everything setup correctly and some more tourists arrived! I eventually managed to get this shot.

Well, I am glad that you got this one. It's a stunning image. Dark, brooding, with just enough light left in the sky to bring out the structure. Very well done.

This is somewhere I've been intending to get to for a long time - this makes me even more determined! An incredible atmosphere and It just proved that shadow detail isn't everything!

Love it!

This is great shot. It is nice to see others have the same thing happen to them.
