Graham I would prefer this shot. The wall divided your picture into 2 halves in your Xpan shot. Also I would like to see this photo printed with a higher filter number. I like walls to have a harder edge to them. But maybe that's just me. I used the Nikon F80 for years until I bought a second hand F100.

As with all of my posts the print is far crisper than the scanned image. It's a dilemma I constantly have - whether to post and get some sort of feedback from other photographers who have a lot more experience than I have, while knowing that my cheap and decidedly not not so cheerful Epson printer/scanner/fax/copier/coffee maker is delivering sub standard copy, or to refrain from posting because the representations are not too accurate. I am loathe to invest in anything more expensive because this practically is the only scanning that I do and I'd rather spend the few hundred UK Pounds required on film and chemicals.
I am glad that you took the time to post a comment though even though I am still not quite sure I agree with you.

I like this version better, it makes more sense in composition, has a better balance than previous one on XPan. The sky adds value giving the subject more air to breath. cheers
