Thanks Donald and Robert.

I am not familiar with the the phrase/concept 'dissimilar balance' Donald. Composition is something about which I am keen to educate myself. Is there a reference you have which might help me please?

Pro160S is a lovely film Robert. I find myself using it pretty regularly, especially where there is a brightness range beyond Velvia that cannot be controlled by ND grads. This range permits use of just one sheet, so I can be lazier about metering! Here there were 4 1/2 - 5 stops from crevices to the highlights all around the frame. Downside is that QL was out of stock from July-Oct here in the UK. After the trip to Cornwall, there is just half a box left!

I agree with Donald that this image does posess a certain balance that is appealing.

I think what he's referring to is that there's balance between left and right, but they contain dissimilar elements.
