Beautiful photograph! Gorgeous light! I can't imagine a much finer photograph in the natural world. I love how the light illuminates the edges of the rock brilliantly outlining shapes and shadows. It seems very moody too, except i don't know what that term should mean here, not being adequate with words. I just felt like i was standing there and it was beautiful, restful and the light was warming. For all the ice, the photograph doesn't feel cold. Dang this needs to be on walls.
@Kevin Caulfield This was indeed a bit of work to get to where I wanted it. There are three different contrast settings used: 90Y (grade 1/2) which was needed to capture the mist, any higher contrast made the mist disappear, 75M (grade 3.75ish) for the central rock face with tree above, and 45M (grade 3) for the right side area. All told there were 8 exposures under the enlarger, including the four corner vignettes. I still consider this a bit of a work in progress, but I'm liking the look at this point.
