While walking in the Mississippi River valley with my dad, I ran across this young lady who sat at the base of a tree, silently observing the river passing by. She looked so peaceful I had to ask her if I could take a picture of her. Happily she agreed. :)
We remain total strangers, Tony. I'd like to give her a print, but am not likely to ever meet her again. Thanks! And thanks to Ben too, for the nice words.
Her pensive gaze, the sweep of her hair meshing with and contrasting with the tree-bark, the loose draping of her shirt - all of the feel and textures of this wonderful, expressive study. It is a shame she will never see it. But we do, and it's good enough for me.
