The dark band of trees in the center gives you two images compositionally. Unless you can find a way to unify the top and bottom, you might have two pictures that are better than this whole. I can see what attracted you, though.
I can see where grahamp is going, but the way it is conveys to me a great sense of three-dimensional space that I like, especially since the dark line is at an angle versus horizontal. Looks like some serious hiking!
Very nice! The landscape almost looks like crashing waves. Great movement in an interesting landscape. This is about 20 minutes from my parents' house, but very far from where I live. I get very sentimental about this place.
I think it is very nice, I like the tonality and the depth I agree with DWThomas that the line of trees helps give it a greater depth. There is a lot going on in there knowing than scans often pale in comparison to actual print, only suggestion print it large to show off all that wonderful detail and tones,
Oh yea, it works. Very well too. A very interesting place and quite complex in comprehending its' size. I saw the coast line first thinking it was the edge of a stream then saw the tree trunks that appeared dwarf sized until I saw the house and the whole picture took on a different dimension.
Thank you all for you positive comments! It is especially honouring for me to learn that my picture may even have given someone else (in this case Thomas) a touch of sentimental thoughts. Thomas, I have seen you around this place (APUG) a number of times and have always wondered about you Swedish-sounding name, now I know...
