Wonderful area of central Wisconsin to photograph. I have always been uncomfortable with the landscape as a subject matter and of late am really trying to work seriously with it more.
Mike, curious about the greenish tinge my monitor shows. Is this print toned and if so, in which toner? What was the SBR for this one, as appears to be late in the day? tim
Wow, glad it's not just me on this laptop who saw a green tinge! I really like the light & shadow of this. I like how you've positioned the small valley/path/stream bed? to roll gently to the left then back right behind the rock. Very nice, Mike!
Tim, This was an SBR of 10 and yes I did tone in a home brew palladium toner. My scanner is giving me fits of late and I'm getting these odd color shifts. It was about 2 or 3 in the afternoon when I did this. I was able to keep detail throughout the entire image as I wanted with the exception of some of the very brightest parts of the snow. I was really happy with that. Two new and strange things here for me....Metering with an incident meter and shooting landscapes. Incidently the paper was bought from Calumet in their Chicago store a couple years ago off their old "Clearance Table." I got the box of 100 sheets for twelve bucks! It is the older style Fortezo which Lith Printers covet due to the Cadmium content that is no longer available in emulsions now. I also had a restrainer in the developer as well. Hey Jeanette...We ought to head up here this spring, eh?
