Pantages-Auditorium

The auditorium of the restored Pantages Theatre in Tacoma, Washington. The building has been again remodeled since this image was made in the 1980's. Image was made on 11x14 VPL color negative film with the f/18 "5x7" B&L Zeiss Protar (note vignetting in corners).
Great use of the limitations of that lens. I think this is really beautiful, bowz!

Thanks, Thomas! I really appreciate your perceptive comment.

My approach: Only through understanding our limits can we become free. I can imagine nothing worse than no limits!

I consider color much more difficult than B&W. Good color I mean, away from absurd saturation.
This is beautiful and very subtle. Vignetting is perfect, "closing" the frame and adding "feel" in this space.
Terrific shot.
