Built in 1936, the P S Ryde worked as a passenger ferry between Portsmouth and Ryde until 1970. It was the last working paddle steamer on this route.
In the 1970s it moved to Island Harbour and became a floating disco/nightclub and renamed The Ryde Queen. It was re-furbished after a fire in 1977 But has been unused since the late 1980s and is now totally derelict and rusting away.
There have been plans to restore it in the past but it has disintegrated too far for this to be possible now.
