Owner at photo shop

This is the oldest photography retail shop in Palma de Mallorca.

I went into the shop with the Leica hanging on my shoulder. He asked about my Voigtländer lens, as it didn't look like a leica lens. I handed it to him and he offered me to try his old collapsible Summicron in like new condition.

While he was examining my lens, I set the shutter to 1/60 and the opening to f:2, focused and shooted him.

He said: you will never see anything like that Summicron. Several days later I confirmed it. I gave him a fiber copy of the photo that he really appreciated. I asked about the Summicron, but it is unlikely he will part with it.

Thanks god they still sell film, developer, paper...

Very poignant. In just a few years every one of these shops will be gone. Somehow that makes me very sad. I don't deal with change very well. For now I relish finding these places. Domenico took me to one in Whittier last month. The fellow produced a box of old cable releases and I chose 2 marvelous quality for a whopping 5 bucks.
