I'm not a fan of 'ironic' photography, but this piece is done well. The steel trees are just where they should be, and the whole thing is nicely composed.
I would not personally describe this as being "ironic," but a landscape comprised of things as they are. Although, what I do love about the medium is the ability of the viewer to bring and take a very personal experience to the photograph.
As I look at, and think about, this photograph more, I see how it can be a sort of metophore of how I (sometimes) feel about the landscape.
It's fine Richard and you don't have to defend yourself. I'm thinking along similar lines down here in Florida World where the contrasts are more than overwhelming but will take an insightful eye to capture....
