Owens Lake, November, 2007

Another from this last trip. Here is Owens (dry) Lake near the Lower Owens River Project Pumpback Station and Delta Area. It will be interesting to see how this area changes in the next few years. There are no plans to refill the lake, and much if it is levied off for the dust mitigation program. There is, though, a small continuous flow of water to support the delta wildlife habitat area.

The layers of textures, with the near and far echoing each other makes for a very interesting and beautiful photograph. Nicely done.

All the best,
Daniel

it's very appealing, subtle and beautiful ..... it is descriptive, yet transcends the documentary

Richard,

Nice.

Even on my crappy monitor this appears to have a brilliance to it. Overall, very subtle relationships between tones that seem to be narrowly separated in value...I can only imagine an acutal print on glossy paper. I'm not familiar with the C-1, is that an 8x10 or 4x5?

Very interesting photograph, both from a compositional as well as content standpoint. It's almost like a macro- and a micro-cosmos, all in one frame. The sense of depth is astounding and I especially like how you eek so much local contrast from your negative, the tonal separations are just exquisite. Very well done!
