I was trying to finish off the roll of color film in my camera. We were down at the fishing spot on the Yellowstone around a mile from our house. I like how this one turned out. So thought I'd share! Any constructive criticism is always welcome on any of my shots!
1. Seeing that I'm a serious fly fisher & tyer I want to fish it
2. You only live a mile from this spot which I could easily walk
3. I can show you what I would do if I was going to take a shot from that exact spot
Other than that I would have used a polarizer to make those clouds pop. Then I would have taken it from the right side to eliminate the water valves and pipes. If they have some historic value then I could see keeping them in the shot. It also looks like you may have metered off of the sky making the tree's, bridge & pipes much darker. With some tweeking it would show more detail. Like the camper driving on the right side of the bridge.
I took another shot that didn't have the water valves in it and it seemed sort of dull! I think that has to do with the fact that I see the scenery around here everyday and it just seems sort of dull after a while. I always forget about the polarizer! I have one in my camera bag. I must remember to take it out every once and a while! Probably would have made the mountains show up more also. Thanks for the comments.
