Following my project related to death, I decided to work in a hospice to get some images of the people close to the end of their life. I found this lady that have to use her thumb to open her eyes. I have to confess that work there has been one of my toughest experience in documentary photography, it's hard and depressing, but it's part of my commitment to go beyond my comfort zone.
A very interesting idea...it's often the unspoken subject for humans...yet it defines our own humanity that we are concious of our own mortality. I think this is a great image to start. Rgds, Kal
I love the photograph. I am a disabled person. I am often taking photographs of other disabled people, including those in hospice care. I trust that you obtain appropriate permissions, including signed releases from your subjects. Otherwise, such work holds absolutely no value and should never be shown publicly.
