I am a great lover of nude photography. Personally I feel that there is a fine line between the nude as art, and the nude as titillation. This image sits somewhere in between, though I am pretty sure that this was not your intention. I think that the golden rule is that a nude can be hung on your wall and your 85 year old granny would just walk past without batting an eyelid, such as most of the work of Jeanloupe Sieff, for example, though even some of his work is a little naughty.
I don't dislike this photograph, and nor does it offend me in any way, I quite like the composition and think that it displays the models body beautifully, but it does no favours for her face as we are looking up at her, which I don't feel is very flattering.
If my comments offend you, then I apologise, I just thought I would share my thoughts on what I think is a very fine photograph.
Hey, no problems Stoo. Actually you hit the nail on the head. There is an alluring element in the image that was intentional. There's also something a bit more cerebral. In the set that we shot together I was actually trying for something more fine art as well as some shots that could get accepted in to The Dirty Show (www.dirtydetroit.com) This is a shot from the latter intent and it's about as naughty as I get. I think if the camera angle were higher her face would be flattered more but some of the strength in the pose would be lost. It's a trade off and I picked a side.
Your comments don't offend me at all. If one's going to attempt art some will like it, others won't. You gotta be a big boy/girl, take your criticisms and get back to work.
Okay on my better monitor its not over exposed so its fine in this part, what I do not so like are the double shaddows otherwise its a bit provocative which I like!
There's nothing wrong with a photo of a naked lady being provacative. It's not like she's shoving a cucumber in her vagna. I personally think it's a very good, sexy, image, but the way the light and pose were captured, it looks like she has a small white square hanging from her crotch. That's what I first saw, looking at it. Other than that, great shot.
