This photo is printed with far to low of contrast giving the impression of a flat print. The other one is printed with far to high of contrast. What I would do is choose a contrast level somewhere in the middle. Then I would burn in the sides around the window. Then I would carefully bleach out the widowsill to draw the eye towards the center of the image. Just one mans opinon.

In my opinion this print is over exposed and perhaps a bit over developed. Back off on your exposure time to make a lighter print. at that point you can judge the prints contrast. The other print is under exposed. I don't think bleaching is necessary as the center area through the window is not to far off on exposure in the lighter print.
Make a dodging tool that matches the window shape and use it to hold back the window area while giving additional exposure (burning) all of the area around the window. May take a few tries to get it right, but do give it a shot. I also believe your negative is a bit over developed judging from the bleached high lites on the window sill and around it. Only a softer grade of paper will help there.
