what a beautiful old building ! hh richardson would be happy to see how you photographed it
the flagstones make a nice completed image, they lead away, to the unknown ...
i i find it hard to look at the whole image, can't see the image all at once because its such a big scan ..
thanks for posting !
@John Galt
thanks john
i guess i could do that and look at it in the viewer
sorry for being lazy do you know anything about
who or when it was built ? i have my own ideas...
is the receiving tomb** the same style as this office building ?
** the receiving tomb ( aka. receiving vault ) sometimes looks like a shed, sometimes they keep the grounds equiment there
and it was also where they stored ( receive ) the deceased if the ground was too frozen to dig a proper grave.
they can be just dug out of a hill with a door or an extremely ornate structure.
Actually jnanian the Cemetery Guide lists this as an old NY State Office building, I can do more research and post my findings here. There is a magnificent chapel/receiving tomb on the grounds with it's own crematorium which has not been used for a LONG time and is in bad repair.
