Old boiler in an abandoned workshed, part of a dry dock complex along the Erie Canal - only light was from a small window, exposure was for 2 minutes

I'm w/ the honorable Mr. Thomas. Heavy rust has a texture that jumps off the print. As one ignorant of the LF contortions, is the soft focus at the bottom a result of the bottom of the back being tilted away from the plane?

That is probably the case by a few degrees, but it is more likely the result of lens not being stopped down and the light was so dim that anything other than window lit area was very hard to see - my focus point was the rivet heads.
 
I sure know what you mean about dim light being hard to focus in. If 2 min wasn't enough w/ your aperture, it might take a sleeping bag to get it all sharp. 'Lovely shot, rmann. 'Can't say I've seen one from you that isn't. 'Hope you have some fun this wkend.
