Okra

Okra pods from last year's garden. They are set in a wooden dish which had me thinking of an egg.

Haha P.C. so I guess you don't like the slimy, gluey, green goodness? Actually I add it to gumbo as Dan described, it's great! I also like it fried, dipped in ketchup, mmm! But whether you like it or not, you must grow some: it's such a curious plant, with gorgeous yellow blossoms. The pods can reach almost a foot long in length.

Thanks all! I've been staring at my pods all winter, wondering what to do with them. It was a good thing I waited... the seams split open in this very striking way.

Classic! BTW you should try some well made pickled okra, with a hint of jalapeno in it.

Pickled okra eh, okay, I'll have to try that.

Stradibarrius, thanks! Go on and lith your pasta, it might work well. I have two more pasta shots nearing completion; once I have a set, I'll put more thought into how to print them. Maybe albumen is appropriate ...
