"oilgraph 3"

i had posted digital shots of these "oilgraphs" on facebook but now they are dry enough to scan and post here...
they are lith prints, glued with archival glue to wood, then covered in oil paints of various colors. once that is done, i begin removing the paint with various things..paper towel, news paper, etc..until i am happy with the look, or until i give up....

Hi, Marianne. I really like your work, but am of two minds about them. First, these are the kind of things I would really like on my wall at home! On the other hand, they appear to be images of sculpture and paintings, in which case I am a little ambivalent. Of course, if these are your sculptures or painting, that strikes me as a different thing.

In any case, I appreciate your approach and technique, that you are willing to risk destroying something in order achieve something unique.

rich...they are still life photographs i have shot and printed...in this one, it is a dear skull and some milkweed pods which i have hung from a wire against the background. this is a link to the original photograph http://www.apug.org/gallery1/showim...e&direction=DESC&imageuser=5379&cutoffdate=-1

i took one of the prints i had done and glued it to wood and proceeded to do the "oilgraph" treatment to it....the other "oilgraphs" are also done the same with objects i have gathered either from my shelves of from my husbands shop....i use alot of found objects some of which might be things my husband has created in his studio or that we both have found along the beach, roadside, junk yards etc...

Cool Marianne. You will be bringing examples to photostock ??

Best,
Jim

gim..i will bring them, yes. gotta figure out how to present them. i guess i will just mat them like a regular photo and try to find a suitable frame.
