oaks and hut 3

with Wolfgang's instruction sheet in one hand and his chemicals in the trays I snatched this lith print on this insomniac night...The color and tonality is impressive with the print in hand... I could get into to this lith thing ... Strangely I went into the darkroom to prep stuff for a kallitype of this negative ??? This is was the 1st one of 2.

Thanks Andrew and Marianne . The no. 2 version in hand has such marvelous vibrant colors so if I had to choose one that would be it. However, I will mount both and live with them for a bit and I am sure, depending on mood, will choose different . This one has a nice creamy glow that I like.

Lovely, Miles. I too love the soft glow and subtlety of this one.

All the best,
Daniel

One thing to remember Miles is that I believe this to be the first one in the soup. With lith, the color can change from print to print. If you are not using old fogged paper or old brown to 'season' the developer, you will get this gradual color shift on the first few prints until the developer gets seasoned. Then the color and developer may only be good for 5 or 6 prints before you need to refresh it.

I like this one also ,much lighter tone gives the expression open easy can of atmosphere. Also more detial in the dark areas opens the print up,not as harsh as the other.

Thanks david and mike , thanks Wolfgang for inspiration and chemistry that I not even sure I'm mixing correctly but are fun to work with  ......
