The 28 live oak trees surrounding the walkway didn't provide as much shade as the image would lead you to believe. I did quite a bit of burning to lead the eye toward the Greek revival mansion.
It's not as seamless when you see it larger, I'm afraid. The small upload size flatters it! I used a piece of cardboard that was pretty much an oval with a little nub at the bottom to catch some of the walkway. You can definitely see it. Some of the trees just above the building are too light.
Very iconic antediluvian southern plantation image. I can image different people of different races having very different view/opinions of the "light at the end of the tunnel" you created here. A very interesting and perhaps controversial picture depending on your point of view. Nicely handled though.
That would be antebellum. I doubt Noah would be interested in this. Nice picture. Is this one of the most beautiful spots on earth, or are we all being fooled? I can see Vivian Leigh standing on the balcony, just to the left of center, waiting for Charles Hamilton.

You're probably being fooled with, but only slightly. It is a legitimately gorgeous place in person, almost like shooting fish in a barrel for a photographer. In fact, after I took some photographs I turned to my good friend and said, "if I can't make anything nice out of these I'm pawning my camera equipment and taking up macrame."
They way you handled the foreground highlights was very nice and I'm sure the shadow detail is much better than the scan. Love the way you controlled the whole image. I love this and the way you have handled it. Just perfect. Thank you for showing this to us.
